COUNCIL TO CONSIDER BUDGET APPROPRIATION TRANSFER/AFPA FUNDING

March 27, 2023 3:40 a.m.

The Roseburg City Council will consider approving a budget appropriation transfer at its meeting Monday night.

Information from staff said that parks capital equipment replacement items that were budgeted in the 2021-22 fiscal year were not delivered until after the close-out of the fiscal year, which caused the items to be charged against the appropriations of the following fiscal year. Consequently, current appropriation levels are not sufficient to manage the parks capital equipment items which were budgeted in the current fiscal year. In order to purchase the budgeted capitol items for the Parks Department, an appropriation transfer from the Equipment Replacement Funds Reserve for future expenditure to the capital outlay is required. The transfer will be for $102,900.

Councilors will also consider the use of American Rescue Plan Act funds for audio/visual system upgrades along with IT and radio system projects.

Mayor Larry Rich will proclaim April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and talk about the retirement of Assistant City Manager/City Recorder Amy Sowa.

Other items are on the agenda as well.

The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. It can be seen on the city’s Facebook page or viewed later at www.cityofroseburg.org.
