WINTER STORM WARNING THROUGH 11:00 A.M. SATURDAY FOR MOUNTAIN AREAS

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect through 11:00 a.m. Saturday for mountain areas in southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said moderate to locally heavy snow in showers is expected. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches in the Cascades and 2 to 4 inches in the Siskiyou Mountains is expected Saturday morning. Winds gusting as high as 40 miles per hour over exposed terrain in the Cascades.

The Warning area includes the South Central and Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains including Highway 62 near Union Creek and Crater Lake, Highway 230, Highway 58 at Willamette Pass and Highway 138 at Diamond Lake, Highway 140 near Lake of the Woods and the Mt. Ashland Ski Road.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult and is strongly discouraged.
