WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR CENTRAL DOUGLAS COUNTY ABOVE 1,500 FEET

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for central Douglas County from 5:00 p.m. Thursday through 11:00 a.m. Friday above 1,500 feet.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said snow is expected above 1,500 feet. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches with 4 to 10 inches in higher terrain to the east.

The Advisory Area includes the passes on Interstate 5 between Glendale and Canyonville, Highway 42 near Camas Mountain and portions of Highway 227 from Tiller southward.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

Drivers should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
