WALKING TOUR SHOWCASES SUCCESSFUL PRIVATE WOODLAND MANAGEMENT

An upcoming walking tour will showcase successful private woodland management.

A release from the Oregon State University Extension Service said the public is invited to tour the Braz family property at 3960 Green Valley Road near Oakland. It will take place April 18th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

OSU Extension, the Umpqua Oak Partnership and the Douglas County Chapter of the Oregon Small Woodlands Association are hosting the event. Landowners and UOP members will discuss restoration and forest management for oaks, conifers, wildflowers and native plants, and how to create and maintain wildlife habitat. Birds will also be identified by sight and sound during the tour and many wildflowers will be in bloom.

Register by calling 672-4461 by April 16th. Cost is $10 per person or $15 per family.
