An Oregon City man was jailed after a traffic stop by Roseburg Police early Thursday morning.

An RPD report said an officer attempted to stop a motorcycle traveling at a high rate on speed on Northeast Stephens Street, just after 1:35 a.m. The motorcycle accelerated and continued north. The rider lost control while attempting to turn onto Northeast Alameda Street. As the officer got to the rider, 31-year old Charles Lockridge was back on the motorcycle and appeared to be getting ready to start the bike. The officer was able to detain Lockridge without incident.

During a consent search Lockridge was reportedly found in possession of brass knuckles which he can’t have due to being a felon. Lockridge was also allegedly in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine. The motorcycle returned stolen out of Clackamas County.

Lockridge was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle, possession of a stolen vehicle, attempt to elude, being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon, and for a violation amount of meth. Lockridge was detained without bail.
