A five-vehicle accident closed a section of Interstate 5 northbound on Friday.

A report from Oregon State Police said just before 1:40 p.m. the wreck took place near the Glendale interchange. A commercial motor vehicle was forced to perform evasive maneuvers after negotiating a blind corner and finding that traffic was stopped, due to construction.

Four passenger cars were damaged from the following collision and the semi suffered minor damage. All the passenger vehicles had to towed from the scene. Two occupants were transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center to be seen for minor injuries.

One lane of the freeway was reopened after about an hour while cleanup from the crash continued. The report does not indicate if any citations were issued.
