WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY THROUGH 11:00 P.M. MONDAY FOR MOUNTAIN AREAS

March 13, 2023 3:50 a.m.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 11:00 p.m. Monday for mountain areas in parts of southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said total snow accumulations of 8 to 17 inches are expected with winds gusting as high as 45 miles per hour.

The Advisory area includes the south-central Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains and the southern Oregon Cascades.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. Low visibilities are possible due to blowing and drifting snow.

Motorists should stock an emergency kit with tire chains, flashlight, batteries, blankets, food, water and medications. Drivers should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destinations. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
