ROSEBURG POLICE JAIL MAN AFTER REPORTED ASSAULT

Roseburg Police jailed a man after a reported assault incident on Sunday evening.

A report from RPD said at 8:00 p.m. 41-year old Ray Martinez had allegedly threatened to kill three victims with a sharpened screwdriver when two of the victims attempted to take the third victim to the hospital. Martinez reportedly grabbed the screwdriver out of his pocket and actively resisted being arrested. He was hip-tossed to the ground and pepper spayed being finally being handcuffed.

Martinez was charged with attempting to commit a Class C felony, unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest, and 4 counts of menacing. He was detained without bail.
