A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Monday morning through late Monday night for mountain areas in the region.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said heavy and blowing snow is possible. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches are possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 miles per hour.

The Watch area includes the Southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains including Crater Lake, Diamond Lake and portions of highways 140, 62, 138, 58, and 230.

Forecasters said drivers should plan on slippery road conditions. Low visibilities are possible due to blowing and drifting snow.
