WINTER STORM WARNING THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning through 4:00 p.m. Friday afternoon for the Southern Oregon Cascades.

A Winter Weather Message from the National Weather Service said heavy snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 24 inches with up to 3 feet possible over higher terrain. Winds gusting as high as 60 miles per hour.

This includes Crater Lake, Diamond Lake, and portions of highways 58, 138, 230 and 62. Forecasters said patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Strong winds could cause tree damage. Snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are likely Thursday afternoon into Thursday night.
