The Douglas County Public Works Department in conjunction with the Bureau of Land Management will be conducting a public safety and road maintenance project on Garden Valley Road about 11 miles northwest of Roseburg starting on Thursday.

A release said road crews and flaggers will be on location weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Garden Valley Road will remain open to all lanes of traffic outside these work hours. The anticipated completion date for the work is March 24th.

Intermittent road closures are anticipated as crews will be cutting and removing hazard trees, limbs and debris from the roadway. Traffic might be delayed for up to 20 minutes at a time. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes if travel is planned through the area during work hours.

Motorists are asked to proceed with caution, be patient and obey all posted signs, signals, warnings and flagger instructions as they travel through all road construction zones.
