Covering coastal Douglas County:

A Gardner man was jailed following an alleged assault Friday night. A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at about 7:10 p.m. deputies responded to the 200 block of Pitt Street in Gardner after a call about a possible assault. As a result of the investigation, 18-year old Mykelen Kerns was taken into custody without incident. The suspect was charged with 4th degree assault, menacing and harassment. Kerns was detained without bail.
