The driver was hospitalized after an apparent DUII vehicle accident early Monday.

An Oregon State Police report said just before 1:00 a.m. a sedan was traveling southbound on Interstate 5 when the driver lost control just past the South Umpqua River on the milepost 120 off-ramp. The vehicle crashed into a hillside and then came to an uncontrolled stop in the middle of the roadway.

The driver was located in a nearby ditch and medical personnel was dispatched due to her injuries. The driver allegedly showed signs of impairment and was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center. While at the hospital the 35-year old driver admitted to being intoxicated and a consent blood draw was performed. The driver had a blood alcohol level of .19, over two times the legal level of intoxication.

Her vehicle was towed from the accident scene.
