WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ABOVE 1,000 FEET THIS WEEKEND

March 3, 2023 5:30 a.m.

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 4:00 a.m. Saturday through 4:00 p.m. Sunday above 1,000 feet for central Douglas County and its eastern foothills.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said 3 to 6 inches of snow is expected.

This Advisory area includes portions of the county above 1,000 feet including Camas Valley, Tiller, Azalea, and portions of Interstate 5 and Highway 42.

Forecasters said snow levels will lower to about 500 feet during the overnight and early morning hours, then rise to about 1,500 feet in the afternoon. This will result in two periods of low elevation snow Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility.
