The Roseburg Warming Center did not reopen Wednesday night but efforts are underway to enable Onward Roseburg to open a temporary overnight shelter as soon as possible.

A City of Roseburg release said Onward Roseburg has arranged to use a building owned by Adapt Integrated Health Care, at 406 Southeast Winchester Avenue as the new location for the outreach. The building is the same one that was used last winter when the warming center first opened in Roseburg.

Operator Kimetha Stallings said Onward Roseburg is working as quickly as possible to get ready for the next opening.

Local nonprofit organizations including the United Community Action Network are rounding up supplies for unhoused people according to UCAN Executive Director Shaun Pritchard.
