A Roseburg man was arrested following an alleged strangulation incident Wednesday afternoon.

A report from the Roseburg Police Department said 49-year old Kennith Weiderhold was arrested after he allegedly strangled a victim and hit her with a guitar while in their vehicle which was in a parking lot in the 700 block of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard.

The victim left the vehicle and ran into a nearby business where employees locked the door to prevent the suspect from getting inside.

Weiderhold was charged with strangulation, fourth-degree assault and for menacing. He was detained without bail.
