IDENTITY OF MAN WHO DIED IN OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING RELEASED

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has identified the man who died in an officer involved shooting Tuesday morning.

At 12:45 a.m. that morning dispatchers received multiple reports of a disturbance at the Roseburg Senior Center where several individuals had been stabbed by a man who was utilizing the warming center located there. Officers from the Roseburg Police Department responded to the scene.

A suspect, 20- year old Mia Tulasi Dasa of Grants Pass refused to comply with directives from officers and attempts to de-escalate the situation. Ultimately officers utilized lethal force against the man, who died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts.

The Douglas County Major Crimes Team is continuing its investigation. The police officer involved in the incident remains on paid administrative leave.

On Tuesday, Roseburg Police said that the stabbing victims are all in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
