Roseburg Police jailed a man following reported criminal mischief Sunday afternoon.

Information from RPD said at approximately 1:00 p.m. 26-year old Jerusalem Callahan allegedly set a garbage can on fire against the north wall of the Gaddis Park pavilion in the 800 block of Northwest Highland Street, burning the wall. Callahan allegedly ran from officers but was caught almost immediately.

Callahan’s parole officer wanted him detained for the new crimes. He was charged with second-degree criminal mischief, third-degree escape and for a parole violation. Bail was set at $6,250.
