WINSTON POLICE JAIL MAN AFTER VEHICLE HITS HOUSE

Winston Police jailed a man after the vehicle he was driving hit a house on Wednesday.

A WPD report said at 4:00 p.m. the driver fled the scene in the 200 block of Broc Drive, but was found a short time later. When confronted, 37-year old Damien Harrington allegedly began to resist and fight with officers. A taser was deployed and Harrington was taken into custody. He was charged with reckless driving, hit and run, DUII, and resisting arrest.

The report said while dealing with the initial investigation, officers learned of a previous domestic assault and strangulation where Harrington was the suspect. He was also charged with fourth-degree assault and for strangulation. Harrington was held on $42,500 bail.
