A Wolf Creek man was cited by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office following a single-vehicle crash Tuesday night.

A DCSO report said at 9:00 p.m. a deputy responded to the wreck in the 700 block of Glendale Valley Road, in the Glendale area. There was heavy snow and black ice in the area. The man’s vehicle crashed into some trees. A trooper from Oregon State Police was on the scene and said a witness claimed the driver had been passing vehicles by going into the oncoming lanes while traveling at approximately 65-70 miles per hour.

The driver was complaining of back pain. His account of what led to the wreck was in agreement with what the witness said. He admitted to having consumed a couple of beers prior to driving.

The man was cited for reckless driving and reckless endangering. He went to Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass to get a blood draw. His vehicle was taped off as tow vehicles were not able to make it to the location due to the weather.
