Due to the snow, the Umpqua Public Transportation District suspended service for Wednesday.

UPTD General Manager Cheryl Cheas told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that as the morning began there was not much snow and all drivers felt safe transporting passengers. Cheas said by 8:30 a.m. one of their vehicles was stuck while others were sliding up to intersections. She said it is no longer safe for them to continue.

As more snow is expected in the afternoon, UPTD will not resume service Wednesday.
