Two people were cited on littering charges by Roseburg Police, in separate incidents on Monday.

An RPD report said at 7:45 p.m. a 31-year old transient was contacted at his camp under the south side of the Stewart Parkway bridge over the South Umpqua River. His camp spanned an area of about 75 feet by 50 feet. The area was covered with trash and resembled a dump site more than a camp, according to the report. The edge of the camp was within 50 feet of the river. The man was cited for depositing trash within 100 yards of the water. He was instructed to clean up his camp and it was also posted for clean up this week.

Just before 11:15 p.m. a 42-year old was contacted regarding his camp being littered with piles of trash in Gaddis Park in the 800 block of Northwest Highland Street. The camp was about 40 feet in size and had multiple piles of trash scattered throughout. The man was cited for offensive littering and was released on the scene.
