TRANSIENT JAILED FOR FELONY COUNTS OF STRANGULATION AND ASSAULT

A transient was jailed for felony counts of strangulation and fourth-degree assault by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday afternoon.

A DCSO report said at 1:30 p.m. the 37-year old allegedly shoved a victim to the ground in the 100 block of Storage Way in Myrtle Creek. The victim got up and the suspect reportedly put her in a choke hold. While the victim was being choked, a witness intervened and pulled him off of her.

The victim had evidence of being strangled. The suspect was jailed. He was released on Wednesday.
