The driver was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon.

A report from the Oregon State Police said just before 1:00 p.m. the sedan was traveling westbound on Highway 38 about 5 miles west of Drain, when for unknown reasons it left the roadway and crashed into the ditch. The driver said he did not know what happened to cause the accident. The 67-year old said he was going about 55 miles per hour and the next thing he could remember his sedan had gone into the ditch. He was transported to a hospital for medical reasons but did not show any signs of impairment.

The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and was towed from the scene.
