A fire Tuesday night in Yoncalla claimed one life.

Fire Chief Brian Burke of North Douglas County Fire & EMS told News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN that firefighters were called out to the 600 block of Main Street just before 8:20 p.m. Burke said crews found an older mobile home fully involved, with flames coming from three sides of the residence.

Burke said the fire was knocked down within twenty minutes. While investigating, crews found an elderly female deceased inside the home. Her identity has not been released, pending notification of next of kin.

North Douglas County Fire & EMS was assisted by crews from Elkton, Oakland and Kellogg rural fire departments.
