DOUGLAS ELECTRIC HAS 1,000 METERS WITHOUT POWER

December 28, 2:20 p.m.

As of mid-afternoon Wednesday, crews with Douglas Electric Cooperative have approximately 1,000 meters without power, following the storm that hit the region on Monday and Tuesday.

Assistant General Manager Phil Bigler said transmission to the Scottsburg substation has been restored and crews are patrolling the lines downstream to continue restoration efforts. Bigler said the majority of members should have power back by sometime Wednesday evening, with the exception of Loon Lake and Tenmile Lake areas. Those members will not likely have their power restored until sometime on Thursday.

Pacific Power is reporting that only a few dozen customers in southern Douglas County are still without power as of mid-afternoon Wednesday.
