MAN JAILED FOR PAROLE VIOLATION AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

A Roseburg man was jailed following a traffic stop on Wednesday night.

A Roseburg Police report said just before 9:30 p.m. officers pulled over a vehicle for a speeding violation near the corner of Northwest Garden Valley Boulevard and Northwest Troost Street. Officers identified the 32-year old driver and determined his driver license was suspended at the misdemeanor level.

Officers contacted the man’s parole officer who authorized that he be detained for a parole violation. The passenger in the vehicle had a valid license and took possession of the sedan.

The driver was charged with the parole violation and for driving while suspended – misdemeanor. Bail was set at $6,250.
