December 12, 2022 3:40 a.m.

It will be the final meeting for two members of the Roseburg City Council, Monday night.

Bob Cotterell and Bev Cole both decided not to seek re-election. Cotterell served on the council from 2011 through 2014 and then came back at the start of 2019. Cole joined the council in 2019. Mayor Larry Rich will recognize both councilors near the start of the regular meeting.

A special meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. to interview two potential councilors to finish the term of Sheri Mootart, who recently resigned. David Mohr and Richard Filley have applied for the seat. It is expected that one of them will be appointed to serve in Position 2 of Ward 1.

Councilors will formally accept the resignation of Victoria Hawks from the Planning Commission.

Three Public Hearings are on the agenda with one ordinance to be considered.

The regular meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. It can be seen on the city’s Facebook page, or viewed later at www.cityofroseburg.org.

Councilor Bob Cotterell will be on Inside Douglas County Monday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. to talk about his longtime work as a community volunteer after 25 years with the Roseburg Police Department.
