A Riddle man was taken to the hospital after a medical emergency led to a two-vehicle crash on Wednesday afternoon.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at about 1:20 p.m. an accident was reported at the intersection of Canyon Avenue and Third Street in Canyonville, where a pickup had crashed into an unoccupied parked sedan.

It was determined that the elderly driver had lost consciousness before the accident took place. The driver had no injuries but was transported to CHI Mercy Medical Center for further medical evaluation related to the emergency.

There was minimal damage to the vehicles and no citations were issued.
