OSU EXTENSION AND DOUGLAS COUNTY 4-H HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS PLANNED

The Oregon State University Extension Service and the Douglas County 4-H have two holiday workshops available for area youth.

The Freezer Jam Making workshop will be December 21st from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the OSU Extension Office Kitchen. Participants will learn about food preservation, food safety and basic cooking skills. They will make their own jar of jam, which can be taken home. The event is open to youth ages 5 to 19. Participants ages 5-8 should have an adult or older youth with them. Registration closes on December 19th at 5:00 p.m.

A Scrapbooking workshop is set for December 28th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Extension Office. Those attending will learn how to design a scrapbook page using personal photos. Basic techniques like page design, working with photos, journaling, and embellishing will all be taught. It is open to those ages 9-19. Registration deadline is December 23rd at 5:00 p.m.

The Freezer Jam Workshop costs $10, while the Scrapbooking Workshop is $15.
