WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY THROUGH 4:00 P.M. MONDAY

November 28, 2022 4:15 a.m.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 4:00 p.m. Monday for the south central and southern Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains, including Diamond Lake.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said 6 to 12 inches of snow is expected in the Cascades with the heaviest amounts above 5,000 feet. Winds gusting 30 to 40 miles per hour and locally above 50 miles per hour over exposed higher locations in the mountains are expected.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Strong winds could cause tree damage. Snow will be the heaviest Monday morning when rates in the Cascades will approach 1 inch per hour.

Drivers should slow down and allow extra time to reach their destination. Carry tire chains and be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
