UMPQUA NATIONAL FOREST CHRISTMAS TREE PERMITS AVAILABLE

November 25, 2022 3:40 a.m.

Christmas Tree permits are now available for the Umpqua National Forest.

A Forest Service release said they can be purchased online at Recreation.gov or through a number of local vendors. They are also available at Forest Service Offices in Roseburg, Idleyld Park, Glide, and Tiller.

Customers can purchase up to five permits per household for $5 each. These permits authorize purchasers to cut their own tree(s) on designated Forest Service lands. Maps identifying those areas as well as additional rules and information are available online as well.

Again, this year, fourth grade participants in the Every Kid Outdoors program are authorized to cut one Christmas Tree for free without a tag. The child’s EKO Certificate or EKO card will take the place of the tag and both the certificate and the card. The fourth-grade student must be present during cutting and transport.
