Roseburg Police are seeking volunteers to join them at the “Shop with a Cop” event for local children sponsored by local businesses and residents via Christmas for Kids of Douglas County and by Walmart on Saturday December 3rd.

During the event, law enforcement officers are expected to take 25 underprivileged foster children shopping to buy holiday presents for their families. Participating children also get to visit with Santa, who provides gifts including a stocking full of goodies to each child.

The event will begin at Walmart that morning at 9:00 a.m. It is supported by a $2,500 donation from the non-profit Christmas for Kids of Douglas County and other donations.

The holiday event is being organized by Roseburg City Council member Andrea Zielinski and by RPD Sergeant Daniel Allen.
