A large contingent of law enforcement officials descended into downtown Roseburg late Wednesday morning, and eventually arrested a man, though few details are available regarding the situation, at this time.

The suspect went into a business in the 600 block of Southeast Jackson Street, made some brief comments, displayed a gun and then sat down.

Southeast Jackson Street was blocked off from Southeast Washington Street to Southeast Cass Street while authorities dealt with the situation.  Sergeant Daniel Allen of the Roseburg Police said the initial content with law enforcement occurred outside the city limits. Allen said RPD assisted the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office with the arrest. He said the man was placed in custody at 11:52 a.m.
