ODOT TO HOLD OPEN HOUSE ON OREGON 42 PROJECT

November 10, 2022 3:40 a.m.

Staff with the Oregon Department of Transportation will host an open house next Tuesday night to share information and collect public input on the Oregon 42: Lookingglass Creek to Interstate 5 project.

Dan Latham of ODOT said the event will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Winston Middle School cafeteria, on Southeast Thompson Avenue. Latham said visitors can drop by any time during the two-hour event, view project displays, speak with ODOT staff, and offer feedback.

Latham said for those who are unable to attend in person, the open house displays are available on the project website: www.Winston42.com. E-mail links are provided online, so residents can offer comments in whatever format is most convenient for them.

The project will pave 4.5 miles of Oregon 42 from Lookingglass Creek in Winston to Interstate 5, repair five bridges, install a traffic signal at Rolling Hills Road, and add safety features along the highway in the Green District.

Latham said for pedestrians, the project will also upgrade sidewalk curb ramps at 14 intersections. These new ramps will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
