OREGONIAN PROJECTING KOTEK TO WIN GOVERNOR’S RACE

November 9, 2022 1:30 p.m.

The Oregonian newspaper has projected that Democrat Tina Kotek will win the race for Governor in Oregon.

As of 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Kotek was ahead by approximately 30,000 votes or two full percentage points, over Republican Christine Drazan. The newspaper said that Multnomah County had yet to tabulate 80,000 votes. Already counted ballots in Multnomah County lean in Kotek’s favor 70 percent to 30 percent. Other media outlets are pointing to the Oregonian’s assessment as well.

A statement released Wednesday shortly after 12:00 p.m. from Drazan’s campaign said: “We are grateful to the many thousands of Oregonians who made their voices heard in this historic election. We continue to monitor returns with the expectation that the race will tighten. We hope to release an additional statement later today”.
