Sutherlin Police jailed a woman for 25 counts of third-degree theft on Monday, concluding an investigation that began on October 10th.

An SPD report said on that date, a sedan was seen pulling into the gravel parking lot at the corner of Northeast Locust Street and Southeast First Street in Oakland.  A subject came into the frame of the city camera and allegedly stole a bag of cans from a can donation bin. The bin is currently designated for an Oakland Playschool fundraiser.

Captain Kurt Sorenson said it was later determined that 31-year old Erica Dufek was suspected of returning to the donation bin multiple times. She was arrested Monday afternoon for what appeared to be 25 counts of the charge.  Bail was set at $31,250.
