The Douglas County Board of Commissioners has issued a proclamation urging residents to honor veterans and in support of the 67th annual Douglas County Veterans Day Parade.

At last Wednesday’s weekly meeting, Commissioner Tom Kress presented proclamation certificates to members of the Douglas County Veteran’s Parade Committee and to a number of other veterans.

The parade will take place in downtown Roseburg Friday at 11:00 a.m. Grand Marshals will be U.S. Navy Submarine Veterans. The parade theme will be, “The Silent Service – Invisible, Invulnerable, Invincible”.

The parade will follow the traditional route through downtown Roseburg. It will start at the corner of Northeast Fowler Street and Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard, turning left onto Northeast Jackson Street, which becomes Southeast Jackson Street, turning left onto Southeast Lane Street, left onto Southeast Main Street, right onto Southeast Douglas Avenue and concluding in front of the courthouse.

The Veteran’s Day parade entry deadline has passed, but late entries will be added to the parade lineup in the order they are received, but they will not be judged.
