WINTER GARDENING QUESTIONS ACCEPTED AT PLANT CLINIC

November 7, 2022 3:30 a.m.

This month the Oregon State University Extension Service Master Plant Clinic is open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The clinic will switch to being open on Mondays only in December and January.

The Plant Clinic is a free service to the public where master gardeners work to solve gardening questions from area residents. It is located at the OSU Extension office on Southeast Douglas Avenue, just east of the courthouse. Those who can’t make it in person, can call 541-236-3052 during clinic hours to get help over the phone. Questions can also be emailed to: douglasmg@oregonstate.edu.

Fall is a good time to collect soil samples for testing by the Master Gardeners. Each sample should contain two cups of soil in a clean plastic bag or container. Dry soil is preferred or there will likely be a delay in getting results due to drying time being needed. Samples can be delivered to the Extension office during regular business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The fee for processing each sample is $20, payable with check or cash. Results will be sent in approximately two to three weeks.
