Saving Grace Pet Adoption Center is offering fee waved adoptions for cats through Saturday.

Executive Director Megan Gram said all cats and kittens will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and will be available for adoption on a donation basis.

Gram said Saving Grace is hoping to make room for roughly 80 cats from one location, which they will be taking in over the next few weeks. Gram said, “We are working with law enforcement to ensure the safety and care of the cats as we work to make space for them in the shelter”. Gram said some of these cats are not well socialized so the organization will be looking for barn homes for those cats. She said, “Right now, our focus is on finding new homes for as many of the cats in our care as possible so that we can make room to house these incoming cats”.

A release said Saving Grace is currently operating at maximum capacity for both dogs and cats with over 300 pets in their care either at the shelter or in foster care. The shelter has taken in almost 500 more pets this year than they had at this time last year. To help encourage more owners to look for their pet at the shelter and come pick them up, they are not charging any fees to reclaim their pets at this time. A ride home is also offered for pets whose owners are unable to come to the shelter to pick them up.

Gram said Saving Grace desperately needs foster homes for dogs, cats and kittens. Foster families may keep a pet for as short or as long as they would like, and Saving Grace provides all supplies.

Saving Grace is also in need of dog and cat food for shelter pets and the food bank. Saving Grace requests Kirkland brand or Purina One Pro cat food and Kirkland or Diamond or Diamond Naturals brand dog food. They also need wet dog food, canned chicken and non-seafood wet cat food. Blankets and plastic crates are always needed.
