WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY STARTING AT 2:00 A.M. TUESDAY

October 31, 2022 1:40 p.m. 

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect starting at 2:00 a.m. and continuing through 5:00 p.m. Wednesday for mountain areas in southern Oregon.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said wet snow is expected, especially above 4,000 feet. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches are likely.

The Advisory area includes the South-Central Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains along with the Southern Oregon Cascades. This includes portions of Highway 62 towards Crater Lake, portions of Highway 230 near and including Diamond Lake, Highway 138, Highway 58 near the Willamette Pass, Highway 140 near Lake of the Woods, and the Siskiyou Summit.

Snow levels will start out at around 6,000 feet Monday evening, then lower to between 4,000 feet and 4,500 feet Tuesday morning, before dropping to 4,000 feet Tuesday afternoon. The snow level will lower further Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Forecasters said travel could be very difficult.
