NEARLY 11 PERCENT OF BALLOTS RECEIVED IN NOVEMBER GENERAL ELECTION

October 27, 2022 4:10 a.m.

Nearly 11 percent of the ballots have been received in the November General Election from Douglas County voters.

County Clerk Daniel Loomis said the 9,374 ballots that have come in, is 2.48 percent ahead of the participation rate for the same point in the 2018 General Election.

Loomis said each ballot comes with instructions on how to:

*Properly fill in the oval for the selected candidate or choice on measures

*Selection the option to write-in and fill the oval

*Correct a mistake

Loomis said thanks to prepaid postage legislation, a postage stamp is no longer needed to mail a ballot. Ballots can be placed in one of the many drop site locations around the county. A list of those locations is linked: https://douglascounty-oregon.us/179/Official-Drop-Site-Locations

Ballots are due back by 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 8th.
