One person was transported to the hospital following a wreck on Friday.

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Office report said at about 11:15 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a crash at the intersection of Bills Road and Gael Lane in the Myrtle Creek area. One vehicle was in the ditch off of the east bound lane of Gael Road. The second vehicle was stopped in the intersection.

The driver of the first vehicle said he was driving westbound on Gael Lane and was taking the corner at the intersection when he started to lose control of his vehicle. The juvenile driver said he thought he slid due to his tires being bald and the road being slick from rain. The driver said just as he slid out of his lane into the oncoming lane, the eastbound vehicle struck his vehicle, sending his vehicle into the ditch.

The second driver was taken to CHI Mercy Medical Center due to her injuries.

Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
