Staff with the Douglas Forest Protective Association are working with farmers and ranch owners to schedule prescribed pasture burns ahead of the wet weather expected near the end of the week.

Public Information Officer Rachel Pope said due to forecasted winds and drift smoke being pushed in from the Cedar Creek Fire, prescribed burns scheduled for Tuesday, were postponed.

Pope said Wednesday’s tentative schedule includes prescribed burns:

At 1:00 p.m.:

*Near Newton Creek Road in Roseburg

*Round Prairie, near Clarks Branch Road

*Dixonville and Roseburg, near Sunshine Road

At 3:00 p.m.:

*Kellogg, near Madison Road

Pope said with the window for prescribed burns closing quickly, DFPA is trying its best to work with landowner needs.
