ROSEBURG AND MEDFORD TIE RECORD HIGHS ON THURSDAY

Roseburg and Medford tied the record high temperatures for the date on Thursday.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service said the mercury reached 83 degrees at the Roseburg Regional Airport. That tied the record high for October 13th, which was set in 1978. Medford got to 88 degrees, equaling the record high, set in 2015.

While Roseburg is not expected to tie the record high for Friday of 86 degrees, set in 1961, Saturday could be a new record high temperature. The current record for October 15th is 87 degrees, reached in 2015. Forecasters say Roseburg could hit 88 degrees on Saturday which would be a new record for that date.

Unseasonably warm weather may be winding down. Roseburg is forecast to see high temperatures in the 70’s Monday and Tuesday, before getting back to around 80 degrees starting on Wednesday. Several days with possible rain and highs in the 60s are forecast to begin on Saturday October 22nd.
