The City of Roseburg is taking applications from people who want to volunteer to serve of the Roseburg Public Works Commission.

Applications are due by 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 28th. The vacancy must be filled by someone who owns property or a business within the urban services boundary, which includes all land served by the city’s water system. The commission has nine members. Six must live in the city and three have to own property or a business in the USB.

Commissioners serve three-year terms unless they’re filling a vacant unexpired term. The person to fill this vacancy would serve until the end of this year.

The commission chair may contact applicants to conduct an interview in person or by phone or Zoom. A new commissioner may be appointed during the November 14th city council meeting. In December, the new appointee will be asked if he or she wants to continue serving, and if so, would be reappointed in January.

The Public Works Commission meets electronically via Zoom at 3:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. To apply or get more information, go to the Roseburg Public Works Commission page at: www.cityofroseburg.org. Applications can also be picked up at City Hall.
