October 11, 2022 11:00 a.m.

Volunteers with the Douglas County Master Gardeners program, part of the Oregon State University Extension Service are offering soil testing for gardeners.

Master Gardener Cheryl Caplan said soil tests require one cup of preferably dry soil in a clean jar or Ziploc bag. For each sample taken in, include a $20 check made out to DCMC or $20 cash. Those submitting samples should include their name, address and phone number. More than one sample may be submitted. Samples can be brought to the Extension Office on Southeast Douglas Avenue weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Those with gardening questions can email them to: douglasmg@oregonstate.edu or call 236-3052.

Cheryl Caplan went in-depth talking about Master Gardeners on the Morning Conversation Tuesday on News Radio 93-9 FM and 1240 KQEN. That interview is a KQEN Podcast at www.541radio.com
