Fire restrictions have increased on lands protected by the Coos Forest Protective Association.
Dry weather and fuel conditions have elevated fire danger levels prompting CFPA to impose a Level 2 industrial closure in the east portion of the district.
The Limited Shutdown prohibits the following from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.:
*Operation of power saws, except at loading sites
*Feller-bunchers with rotary head saws
*Cable yarding
*Blasting
*Welding, cutting or grinding of metal
The increase in fire danger has also prompted an increase in the regulated use closure for the public to Moderate across the entire CFPA district.
For more information on restrictions go to: www.coosfpa.net or follow CFPA on Facebook and Twitter.
The district includes lands in Coos County and coastal Douglas County.
