In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:

Blocktober Fest is happening Saturday in downtown Roseburg. It is part a series of events celebrating the Roseburg Sesquicentennial.

Sponsored by NeighborWorks Umpqua, the event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Jackson Street and Main Street downtown will be closed from Washington Street to Lane Avenue.

The family zone will have kid friendly vendors and a stage featuring entertainment from the Fremont Middle School Choir, Umpqua Actors Community Theatre, animals from Wildlife Safari, and more.

The Main Stage will have music from Neil Gregory Johnson and the Lonelies, That Other Band and The Weather Machine.

There will be a beer and wine garden with many local brewers and a number of area wineries. Food trucks will have a wide variety of items to eat. Dozens of local small businesses will have items on sale while a number of local organizations will have informational booths.
