TRANSIENT CITED FOR LITTERING ONCE AGAIN

October 6, 2022 10:35 a.m.

A transient was cited for littering once again, by Roseburg Police Wednesday afternoon.

An RPD report said at 3:30 p.m. the 54-year old man was contacted on the old trestle, which is now a walkway and path, near the corner of Northeast Stephens Street and Northeast Diamond Lake Boulevard.

The report said the transient had “copious amounts of trash” spanning the whole width of the path, making it impassable. The suspect’s mess, which consisted of piles of trash and numerous homemade carts organized like a train, spanned an area about 30 feet in length. The man has been cited before at the location and was previously warned to clean up his mess.

He was released after being cited. The area is scheduled to be cleaned up on Friday.
